EURO 2012 GETS OFF TO A FLYER!

Co-hosts Poland took on Euro 2004 winners Greece. It was a close fought contest, and Poland took the lead on 16 mins via Lewandowski, which saw a fantastic headed goal from the penalty spot. Greece were then down to 10 men after Socratis Papastathopoulos was dismissed for what I can say was very harsh. He jumped for a header and won it, I didn't know that was a foul. Then the 2nd was a booking, but not worthy of a sending off. If anyone knows what the reasons were for him getting sent of then please feel free to comment. Poland were dominating the 1st half,
with Greece proving poor.

The 2nd half was a different story, Poland went napping, and conceded a soft, soft goal. I am not entirely sure what Polish and Arsenal 'keeper was thinking, as there was no way he could reach the ball, but nonetheless, Salpingidis tapped home on 51 minutes. Szczesny's night went from bad to worse, as he was then red carded after taking down Dimitris Salpingidis.. His substitute Tyton was the savior, as he saved Giorgos Karagounis' penalty.

It was a fine way to kick off the Championships, and I am looking forward to the rest of the games.
