Vincent Kompany Barclays Player of the Year
Belgium center back Vincent Kompany picked up the Barclays Premier League player of the year last night. Kompany has been outstanding this season and took over the captaincy from controversial front man Carlos Tevez this season. He started his senior career at Anderlecht in 2003, making 73 appearances in 3 years at the club. He then moved to German side Hamburger SV, playing only 29 times.
Manchester City then signed him in 2008, and has been a big part of their defence ever since, and scored a vital winner in the Manchester Derby a few weeks ago.
